Day 4 of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 presented by ATCO and Boeing brought electrifying action to the slopes as Competitors showcased their skill, resilience, and determination in Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding, and Biathlon. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Whistler Blackcomb and Whistler Olympic Park, competitors embodied the spirit of the Games—pushing boundaries, embracing the challenge, and proving that recovery through sport knows no limits.

Key Moments & Results
Men’s Novice IBI4 Biathlon – David Medina, a 28-year-old Colombian veteran of the Public Force, competed in this challenging sport that combines Cross-Country skiing and precision shooting. Through Invictus initiatives like Impact Marathon Nepal, he has transformed his recovery into purpose—helping build hydroponic crops for a community of 25,000 in Nepal. His journey is a true testament to the power of sport in rehabilitation and recovery.

Nordic Cross-Country Men’s Novice INO1 – Sit Ski – Viktor Dykyi, a Ukrainian veteran from the Kharkiv region, claimed the silver medal in an emotional finish. Having lost both legs in combat, Viktor embraced adaptive sports as his pathway to recovery. In an interview with Ukraine Crisis, he said, “I adore life.” His unwavering positivity was on full display in today’s race.

Women’s Novice IB14 – Open (Women’s) – Major Ashley Christman, a U.S. Marine Corps Combat Engineer Officer, is proving that resilience knows no bounds. Despite battling stage 4 neuroendocrine cancer, she currently holds second place in her category, embodying the unconquered spirit of the Games.

Meet Guillaume Durand—a retired R22eR Sergeant whose journey is a testament to courage, perseverance, and transformation. A veteran of deployments to Afghanistan and Latvia, Guillaume’s military career was shaped by honour, leadership, and camaraderie. Yet, after service, he faced new challenges—PTSD, chronic pain, and homelessness. Through sport, he has rediscovered purpose, resilience, and community.

Taking to the course as the last Competitor of the day, Guillaume delivered a remarkable performance in the Biathlon Men’s Intermediate-Advanced IBI4 – Open, securing second place in a thrilling finish. His journey on and off the course is a powerful reminder of the impact of sport in recovery.
