As the Invictus Games Foundation marks its 10th anniversary, we are pleased to announce significant leadership additions that will shape the future of the Invictus Movement. Ruth Paul has been appointed as Finance Director, Helen D'Oyley as Chief Development Officer, and Richard Smith CBE, currently Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Deputy CEO. These strategic appointments demonstrate the Foundation's commitment to the next decade of empowering wounded injured and sick service personnel and veterans through the transformative power of sport.

Ruth Paul – Finance Director

Ruth Paul brings a wealth of financial expertise to the Invictus Games Foundation, having qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant early in her career. She started as an auditor and later moved to Boston, USA, where she worked in the Financial Services industry for several years. Ruth returned to the UK in 2017 and has since taken on senior finance roles in the charity sector. She joined the Invictus Games Foundation in October 2024, and her knowledge of both the corporate and non-profit financial landscapes will be crucial in guiding the Foundation through its next phase of growth.

Helen D'Oyley – Chief Development Officer

With over 15 years of experience working in leadership roles for international organisations, Helen D’Oyley brings her extensive background in philanthropy and fundraising to the Invictus Games Foundation. Having previously held senior roles at World Vision, Crown Agents, and Save the Children, Helen has led teams in building transformative partnerships that have had a significant impact on communities affected by poverty, conflict, and disasters. Her expertise in developing multi-million-pound programmes and fostering international relationships will play a pivotal role in expanding the Foundation's reach and influence over the coming years. Helen’s personal passion for sports, including competing in triathlons, further aligns with our mission of using sport as a tool for recovery and resilience!

Richard Smith CBE – Promoted to Deputy CEO

In addition to these exciting new hires, Richard Smith CBE, our Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Deputy CEO. Richard has been an instrumental part of the Foundation’s operational success and will continue to guide our strategic development as we enters our second decade.

As the Invictus Games Foundation looks to the future, CEO Dominic Reid OBE expressed his confidence in the new leadership team. “We are thrilled to welcome Ruth and Helen, and I congratulate Richard on his well-deserved promotion. Their combined expertise, passion, and vision will undoubtedly help steer the Foundation towards even greater success over the next ten years.”

The Invictus Games Foundation remains committed to supporting wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, and their families, on their recovery journeys through the power of sport. With this strengthened leadership team, the Foundation is well-positioned to build on our legacy and continue making an international impact, changing lives and saving lives.
