The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games has been another successful event for many members of the Invictus Games community and while we don’t measure success at the Invictus Games through medals won, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of the members of our community who performed incredibly well and captured a Paralympic medal (or 5) at Paris 2024.

Jaco van Gass OBE (2) – Gold in the Men's Individual Pursuit Class C3 and Gold in the Mixed Team Sprint C1–5 (Para-cycling Track)

Jaco captured the first cycling gold medal for Team GB at Paris 2024 in a dramatic come from behind finish, that saw the former Parachute Regiment soldier defend the gold medal he won in the same event at Tokyo 2020.

Alongside teammates Jody Cundy and Kadeena Cox, Jaco won his second gold medal and again defended his top position in the Mixed Team Sprint C1–5 event from Tokyo, 3 years prior.

Curtis McGrath (1) – Gold in the Men’s Kayak Single 200m KL2 (Paracanoe)

Curtis cemented his Paracanoe legacy at Paris 2024 as he captured gold in the Men's Kayak Single 200m KL2 for a third time.

The last person to win this event not named Curtis McGrath was back in London 2012.

Curtis has dominated his Paracanoe class for the last 8 years and three Paralympic Games, and while he came agonisingly close to a podium finish in the Men's Va'a Single 200m VL3 event, missing out on bronze by just 0.06 seconds, he retires with a legacy cemented as one of the all-time greats.

Gregg Stevenson (1) – Gold in the Mixed Double Sculls (Pararowing)

Alongside Lauren Rowles, Gregg Stevenson claimed a thrilling victory in the Mixed Double Sculls in his Paralympic debut at Paris 2024.

The British pair were looking to claim Great Britain's third successive Paralympic gold in the division but were trailing the Chinese duo of Lius Shuang and Jijan Jiang with 100m to go in the 2,000m event.

But they timed their final push perfectly to claim the gold medal for Team GB and Gregg’s first at the Paralympics.

Elizabeth ‘Ellie’ Marks (5) – Silver in the 50m Freestyle S6, Silver in the 100m Backstroke S6, Silver in the 200m Individual Medley SM6, Silver in the Mixed 4×50m Freestyle Relay 20 Pts, and Silver in the Mixed 4×50m Medley Relay 20 Pts (Para-swimming)

Ellie might not have captured a gold medal at Paris 2024, but she did walk away with her biggest Paralympic medal haul ever with 5 silver medals.

Ellie added 3 silver medals in individual events and 2 silver medals from medley events to her already impressive Paralympic medal collection and was the first member of the USA Paralympic Team to win a medal at Paris 2024.

She now has collected a total of 10 medals since her debut at Rio 2016

Rémy Boullé (1) - Bronze in the Men's Kayak Single KL1 200m (Paracanoe)

Rémy stated his dream was to win a gold medal in his home country of France and while he didn’t make it to the top of the podium in the Men's Kayak Single KL1 200m event at Paris 2024, he can be incredibly proud of securing another bronze medal in the event.
