“By the end of the Games, I had seen how much better my team was. The majority of them returned in other countries' jerseys, this spoke millions to me." Oksana, Team Ukraine
Can't see your nation?
The Invictus Community of Nations is made up of those who value the service of their Armed Forces and who recognise the sacrifices of those who become wounded, injured, or sick in the course of their duty (WIS). Admission into the Invictus Community of Nations is at the sole discretion of the Invictus Games Foundation and will be considered on a case by case basis. Applications must be supported by senior figures within a nation’s government or military (Minister / Chief of Defence Staff).
Those wishing to join will be considered on a number of factors, including but not limited to the impact their joining will have on the WIS in their home nation, and on the WIS across the Invictus Community of Nations; The number and severity of operational casualties sustained within the last 10yrs, and the nature and level of in country support available to those who have become wounded, injured, or sick in the course of their service; and the ability to support individual and team participation in opportunities provided by the Invictus Games Foundation.
It should be noted that acceptance into the Invictus Community of Nations does not guarantee the inclusion of a team at the Invictus Games, this decision is made in collaboration with the Host City / Nation, but being part of the community enables access to the Foundation's work beyond the Games via We Are Invictus.
