“I became aware of Hidden Valley Bushcraft through the successful YouTube channel. I became a follower and was immediately impressed with the content and subject matter. Exploring further led me to find their Woodland Warrior Programme. I was taken with the ethos and objectives of the organisation.
After a lifetime of service in the Royal Maries and Police Service I saw an opportunity to explore further contact with veterans in a different environment from reunions and what that entailed. Nick taught me new skills in the outdoors in a safe environment. I have had the confidence to go out into the countryside and practice those skills. I have had an overnight stay in one of the Hidden Valley camps, been on some interesting short day walks and had a splendid day at their small holding renovating their vegetable patch.
On each occasion I have felt comfortable enough to share my life experiences with those around me; listen to their experiences and have a laugh at the same time in a safe and caring environment. As a result I have come away having had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I look forward to taking part in more events in the future.”
